HSE Lead

Job profile:

  • Hempel Indonesia is seeking an experienced HSE Lead, to Provide support to Production to ensure compliance of HSE standard both from Hempel HSE group and local statutory requirements.


Key responsibilities:

  • Responsible person in charge for the country HSE KPI indicators (Health, Safety & Environment); includes Quality management system, legal and all HSE related trainings.
  • Responsible as site/country MR for Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) and Intergrated Management System (IMS).
  • Site incident manager for the site/country responsible for incident reporting, investigation and corrective & preventive actions (CAPAs) implementation.
  • Secretary for the site/country safety meeting.
  • Site champion towards product strewardship – regulatory and compliance, new product introduction (certification and registration).
  • Responsible for implementation of local HSE standard and local statutory requirements.
  • Site owner for energy, waste reduction and sustainability projects.
  • Site responsible manager for contractor safety management system for site operations.
  • Emergency response manager for site as per local requirement.
  • Support extensively towards Continuous Improvement (CI) and PAP savings projects.
  • Conduct monthly HSE audits and meetings, monitor and close all actions according to agreed timelines.
  • HSE training manager – drive towards 100% training completion.
  • Support regional SC and engineering projects (e.g. BigFoot, Plant expansion, EIA, NPI etc).


Key tasks:

  • Monitor and track results/outcomes and consequences of the HSE KPI indicators (Health, Safety & Environment); includes Quality management system, legal and all HSE related trainings.
  • Site incident manager for the site/country responsible for incident reporting, investigation and corrective & preventive actions (CAPAs) implementation.
  • Secretary for the site/country safety meeting.
  • Champion in Risk management and implement local HSE standard and local statutory requirements.
  • Sustainability & Projects (CI, PAP saving and engineering projects) (20%)
  • Site owner for energy, waste reduction and sustainability projects.
  • Support extensively towards Continuous Improvement (CI) and PAP savings projects

  • Site owner for energy, waste reduction and sustainability projects.
  • Support extensively towards Continuous Improvement (CI) and PAP savings projects.

  • Responsible as site/country MR for Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) and Intergrated Management System (IMS).

  • Responsible as site/country MR for Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) and Intergrated Management System (IMS).

Factory/ operations (20%)

Site responbile manager for contractor safety management system for site operations.
Emergency response manager for site as per local requirement.

Training (10%)

HSE training manager – driver towards 100% training completion.

Product strewardship (10%)

Site champion towards product strewardship – regulatory and compliance, new product introduction (certification and registration).

Qualifications and skills:

  • Tertiary education with 3 years industrial experience preferably in Paint & Coatings; Oil & Gas, Petrochemical industries or practical engineering experience and strong knowledge in hazardous material safe handling and controls
  • Experience in industrial safety and process safety will be an advantage
  • Certified Safety and Health Officer will be an advantage
  • Experience in communicating and familiar with the local government and authority policies, rules and regulations
  • Fluent in written and spoken English and with pleasant personality and good presentation skills
